Insight Global are seeking an Assistant Category Manager for a globally recognised financial services organisation.
This position requires 1 day onsite per week in the UK on a 6-Month Inside IR35 contract.
The Assistant Category Manager will support procurement activities across Legal, People & Culture (HR), and Finance categories. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys working across multiple business functions, managing sourcing projects, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver effective procurement outcomes. The role offers exposure to a broad portfolio of professional services suppliers and the opportunity to contribute to strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations within a highly regarded global organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support sourcing and procurement initiatives across Legal, HR/People & Culture, and Finance categories.
- Lead and coordinate competitive sourcing activities, including RFPs, RFIs, supplier evaluations, and bid analyses.
- Manage contract review and contracting processes in partnership with business stakeholders and legal teams.
- Act as a procurement advisor to internal stakeholders, supporting sourcing and supplier management activities.
- Facilitate supplier onboarding, due diligence, and procurement approvals.
- Support commercial negotiations to maximise value and mitigate risk.
- Maintain procurement records, contract documentation, supplier information, and sourcing project data.
- Monitor contract renewals, expirations, and procurement pipeline activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement processes are followed effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance supplier performance.

- Experience in category management and procurement.
- Experience leading and coordinating RFPs, RFIs, supplier evaluations, bid analyses, and sourcing activities.
- Strong contract review and contract management experience.
- Commercial negotiation experience with suppliers and vendors.
- Experience managing professional services suppliers.
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across multiple business functions.
- Experience supporting supplier onboarding, due diligence, and procurement approval processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple sourcing and procurement projects simultaneously.
