Assistant Chef, Whitecraigs
Catering within Renaissance Care is an award-winning team that prioritises inclusion, creativity, and nutrition.
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Chef to join our care home team, where you will play a vital role in preparing quality and nutritious meals that are not only full of flavour, but fully cater to the dietary needs of our residents.
We are seeking an Assistant Chef to join our team for 16 hours per week.
As an Assistant Chef, your role is to enhance the dining experience for residents to support the delivery of a hospitality style approach to catering within our homes.
Duties will include supporting and working alongside the Head Chef to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for residents based on their preferences and choice. As part of the catering team, you will engage with residents to build personal and meaningful connections, allowing you to develop seasonal menus that reflect the nutritional needs and wants of residents - including those with specialist dietary requirements. Choice and independence is at the core of resident meal experience.

Requirements
Key tasks will include preparation, cooking, and service of various food options during each dining service.
The role holds the responsibility for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, and reporting any damages or breakages to the maintenance team or home manager. The role of Assistant Cook, and the wider kitchen team, will be to work within COSHH and HACCP regulations to maintain the highest hygiene standards and ensuring infection control protocols are followed in the kitchen.
