Hours: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week (with every other weekend off)

At Bowburn Manor, the newest luxury care home within the St Mary's Care Group, we're preparing to welcome our very first residents and we're looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our opening team.

As an Assistant Chef, you'll play an important role in creating those moments every day.
Working alongside our Head Chef, you'll help deliver exceptional meals that bring enjoyment, comfort and happiness to residents while supporting the launch of a brand-new luxury care home.
Your Role
As Assistant Chef, you'll support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to prepare nutritious, delicious and beautifully presented meals that meet the individual needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Help Deliver Outstanding Dining Experiences
Assist in preparing fresh, nutritious and appetising meals that residents look forward to every day.

Put Residents at the Heart of Everything You Do
Support the creation of menus that reflect residents' preferences, dietary requirements and favourite dishes.

Support the Kitchen Team
Work closely with the Head Chef and wider team to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Maintain High Standards
Ensure food is prepared, stored and served in line with food hygiene, safety and quality standards.

Assist With Kitchen Operations
Support stock rotation, food storage, deliveries and kitchen organisation while helping minimise waste.

Create a Positive Environment
Contribute to a professional, welcoming and supportive kitchen culture where teamwork is valued.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for food and enjoys making a positive difference in people's lives.

You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working within a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food preparation practices
- An understanding of nutrition and special dietary requirements
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Food Safety & Hygiene qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Most importantly, you'll be caring, reliable and passionate about creating enjoyable dining experiences for our residents.
