Assistant Chief Constable (All Wales)

South Wales Police, on behalf of the four Welsh forces, is pleased to invite applications for the post of Assistant Chief Constable (All Wales).

Role Overview

The successful applicant will be the Executive Lead for the TARIAN Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU), Counter Terrorism Policing Wales (CTPW) and oversee the development and delivery of a wide range of collaborative programmes in Wales as the executive lead for Police Collaboration Wales.

Organisation

As a collaboration between the four Welsh forces and linked to the National Counter Terrorism Network, CTP Wales provides an integrated partnership approach dealing with terrorism and extremism across Wales. This is in support of the Strategic Policing Requirements of the forces and HM Government's Contest Strategy.

The Regional Organised Crime Unit, part funded by the Home Office, Welsh Government and the three Southern Wales Police Forces is a multi-disciplinary team of Police officers and Police staff seconded from the three forces of Dyfed-Powys, Gwent and South Wales. With departments ranging from fraud and cyber-crime investigators to asset recovery experts and intelligence specialists, the teams are dedicated to disrupting and dismantling Organised Crime Groups across the whole of Southern Wales.

Police Collaboration Wales (PCW) manages and oversees programmes of work and ongoing projects on a three or four-force basis, including Sexual Assault Referral Centres, a new Tri-Force Forensics Service, Joint Scientific Investigation Unit, Go Safe (Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership) and coordination of pan-Wales rollout of Right Care Right Person.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
