Assistant Client Manager - Manchester - £45,000 - £55,000

I'm working on an exciting opportunity for an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant who is ready to step beyond the traditional Senior Accountant role and take ownership of a portfolio, develop client relationships and lead a team.

The firm is a confidential progressive accountancy and business advisory firm, with offices across the UK and a reputation for creating a genuinely supportive and people-focused working environment.

What particularly caught my attention about this role

  • The balance between client responsibility, leadership and culture
  • You'll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio while working closely with experienced Directors and colleagues across the wider business

What you'll be doing

  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact and becoming someone clients rely on for advice
  • Overseeing the delivery of accounts and wider services
  • Leading, coaching and developing members of the accounts team
  • Working alongside Directors and other departments to deliver the best possible service
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen existing relationships and support business growth

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
