Assistant Client Manager
North West London - £50,000 - £55,000 + Clear Progression
Not every firm can offer the chance to genuinely influence how a team operates. I'm working with a growing boutique accountancy practice that's built an excellent reputation through long-term client relationships and outstanding service. With exciting growth plans and a clear vision for the future, they're now looking to appoint an Assistant Client Manager to work closely alongside one of the firm's Partners.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who's ready to step beyond a traditional Senior Accountant role but still enjoys staying close to the technical work. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio, review the work of others and help drive the day-to-day efficiency of the accounts team.
The Opportunity
This is a varied role that combines technical excellence with leadership and operational responsibility. You'll oversee the delivery of statutory accounts across a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, ensuring work is completed to a consistently high standard while helping to keep workflow moving efficiently across the team.
You'll also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting the Partner with the day-to-day running of the department, making this an excellent stepping stone towards Client Manager and beyond.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
