Role Description
The Assistant Company Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based at Delifresh’s Bradford location. This position supports the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role involves assisting with month-end and year-end reporting, preparing basic financial reports, and supporting payroll and expense procedures as required. The Assistant Company Accountant will liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve queries, ensure compliance with company policies, and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a busy, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, including experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including data entry, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, including clear written and verbal communication and a collaborative working style.
- Good time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a finance or accounting support role, ideally within FMCG, food service, or a similarly dynamic sector.
- Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, or business (e.g., AAT, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent), or comparable experience/ working towards.
- Commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and continuous learning within the finance function.
