Make an Impact at RSM UK

Our Finance Function Support team is a fast-growing national service line, dedicated to helping private businesses across the UK manage their finance operations more effectively. As part of this team, you’ll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking group that supports clients with their day-to-day finance needs, compliance, and strategic growth.

You will be a key member of the growing Company Secretarial national team, with a focus on private businesses within the UK. As an Assistant you will support the wider team and management team to effectively deliver work across a portfolio of SME corporate clients. The opportunity to undergo training to develop a career as a chartered governance professional will be available for the right candidate. With the department experiencing rapid growth, you’ll also collaborate with colleagues across different service lines and offices throughout the UK, while supporting your local office.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Provide company secretarial support across an allocated client portfolio, including maintaining statutory registers, filing Confirmation Statements, completing Level 1 transactions and progressing to Level 2 work under supervision.
  • Incorporate new companies, complete post-incorporation formalities and provide administrative support, including Companies House and HMRC Stamp Office filings, to help clients comply with the Companies Act 2006.
  • Support client take-on procedures, including gathering prospective client information, recording opportunities, completing engagement and acceptance records and AML checks, and issuing engagement letters.
  • Manage work in progress, billing, budgets and deadlines under supervision, while building trusted client relationships, escalating issues with suggested solutions and collaborating with colleagues across RSM to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Develop knowledge of the firm’s specialist services and maintain technical expertise through training and professional development; occasional travel to other RSM offices and client premises may be required, although the role will be mainly office-based in Guildford.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
