Assistant Company Secretary
Location: Near Solihull (Hybrid)
Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday. We would also consider applications from candidates seeking a four-day week worked as compressed hours.
Salary: £55,000-60,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits
We're recruiting for an Assistant Company Secretary to join a successful financial services business. Working closely with an experienced Group General Counsel & Company Secretary, you'll support the delivery of company secretarial and governance services across a diverse portfolio of listed, regulated and private companies.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in company secretarial practice within a supportive environment where no two days will be the same!

- Preparing Board and Committee agendas and meeting packs
- Attending meetings and producing high-quality minutes
- Drafting governance documentation and Board resolutions
- Managing statutory records and Companies House filings
- Supporting Annual Reports, Annual General Meetings and regulatory announcements
- Assisting with corporate governance and compliance requirements
- Supporting share schemes, corporate projects and restructures
- Building strong relationships with Directors, senior stakeholders and external advisers
About you
You'll ideally be:
- CGI qualified, studying towards qualification, or committed to becoming qualified
- Experienced in UK company secretarial practice with knowledge of the Companies Act 2006
- Confident preparing Board papers and taking Board minutes
- Highly organised, proactive and detail-focused
- An excellent communicator with strong written English
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders
- Experience within a listed company, financial services or another regulated environment would be advantageous.

To be considered, candidates should have demonstrable experience of UK company secretarial practice and UK corporate governance gained within a UK organisation or professional services environment.
