Assistant Company Secretary

Permanent | Full Time
£38,000-£42,000 per annum
Liverpool Head Office | Hybrid Working (2 days onsite) with occasional travel to Bury

Support Governance. Enable Great Decision-Making

Bibby Line Group is seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Company Secretary to join our Group Company Secretarial team.

Working closely with the Company Secretary and Deputy Company Secretary, you'll play an important role in supporting effective governance across the Group, ensuring Board and Committee activities are delivered efficiently, professionally and in line with best practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Company Secretarial, governance or Board support who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to the effective running of a complex organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting subsidiary Board and Audit & Risk Committee meetings, including minute-taking and action tracking
  • Preparing agendas, coordinating Board papers and managing meeting logistics
  • Maintaining governance calendars and monitoring key deadlines
  • Building effective relationships with Chairs, Non-Executive Directors and senior leaders
  • Supporting secure digital governance environments, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
  • Assisting with statutory compliance activities, filings and corporate records
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across governance processes and systems
  • Handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a Company Secretarial, governance, Board support or senior Executive Assistant role
  • Strong minute-taking and meeting management experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 skills, including Teams and SharePoint
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive information appropriately
  • Experience with Board portals, governance software or relevant professional qualifications would be beneficial but is not essential.
