The role

An experienced Assistant Company Secretary is sought to join a lean, high-profile governance team, supporting the Board and senior stakeholders across UK and international governance matters. The role offers genuine ownership, strong Board exposure, and the opportunity to improve processes and introduce AI and technology-enabled efficiencies.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting Board and committee meetings, including papers, agendas, and minutes.
  • Managing UK public-company governance and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting global entity governance and working with external providers.
  • Maintaining statutory records and overseeing relevant filings.
  • Providing practical governance advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Improving processes and identifying opportunities to use AI and technology.

About you

  • Experienced company secretarial/governance professional.
  • Public-company experience is essential.
  • Chartered Governance qualification completed or in progress.
  • Strong UK company law and governance knowledge.
  • International entity governance experience desirable.
  • US-listed experience particularly attractive.
  • Pragmatic, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-changing environment.
  • Positive attitude towards AI and technology.
  • Share plans experience is a bonus, not essential.
