Role Description
The Assistant Conference and Events Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at our Bristol hotel. This role supports the planning and delivery of conferences, meetings, and social events, ensuring high service standards and smooth operations from initial enquiry through to post-event review. - Assisting with event scheduling and logistics
- Coordinating room layouts and equipment
- Overseeing event set-up and breakdown
- Working closely with catering, front-of-house, and spa teams to deliver cohesive guest experiences

The role also involves:
- Supporting budget management
- Monitoring event costs
- Helping to maximize revenue
- Maintaining accurate documentation
The Assistant Manager will:
- Supervise and support event staff
- Respond to guest and client queries
- Help resolve operational issues in real time to ensure successful outcomes and repeat business
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and effective collaboration with guests, clients, and internal teams.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on professional guest interaction, problem-solving, and maintaining high hospitality standards.
- Event planning and event management skills, including coordinating logistics, timelines, room layouts, and supplier relationships.
- Budgeting and basic financial management skills, with the ability to track event costs, support revenue targets, and work within agreed budgets.
- Relevant experience in hotel, conference, or events operations, ideally in an upscale or luxury environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple events and priorities.
- Leadership potential, including the ability to supervise team members, support training, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with event schedules.
- Proficiency with event management systems and basic office software; experience with booking or property management systems is an advantage.
