Assistant Construction Manager

WMR Contractors is an established principal contractor specialising in refurbishment, fit-out, conservation and heritage projects across Scotland and the North of England. As our business continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Construction Manager to join our Contracts Management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the construction industry. You'll gain experience across every stage of project delivery, working alongside experienced construction professionals on a diverse range of commercial, industrial and heritage projects.
Who we're looking for
We welcome applications from:
- Third and fourth-year university students studying Construction Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or another built environment discipline.
- Recent graduates looking to begin their career in construction management.
- Individuals who have developed strong industry knowledge through practical site experience, with or without formal qualifications.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is motivated, dependable, eager to learn and genuinely interested in how construction projects are planned, managed and successfully delivered.

The role
As an Assistant Construction Manager, you'll support our Contracts Management and Operations team across all aspects of project delivery, including:
- Assisting with project planning, programming and coordination from pre-construction through to completion.
- Supporting commercial management, procurement, cost reporting and subcontractor coordination.
- Monitoring project progress, quality and programme performance.
- Assisting with contract administration and client communication.
- Supporting health, safety, environmental and quality management on site.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and our directly employed workforce to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
No two projects are the same, giving you exposure to a wide variety of construction techniques, procurement routes and project environments.

Location
Our Head Office is based in Cumbernauld, with projects located throughout Scotland and the North of England. The role will involve a combination of office and site-based working.
