About the Role
As an Assistant Cook at Ingestre Hall Residential Arts Centre, you will play a key role in providing high-quality meals and maintaining excellent standards across our residential education setting. Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you'll help create a welcoming environment for children, young people and adult visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious, home-cooked meals for residential groups and visitors.
- Support menu planning, food preparation and kitchen operations, occasionally deputising for the Senior Cook.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen management standards.
- Assist with stock control, cleaning schedules and maintaining kitchen equipment and supplies.
- Carry out cleaning and housekeeping duties across the centre to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience preparing meals in a commercial, educational or similar catering environment.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, food allergens and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- The flexibility to work mornings, evenings and weekends as required by the needs of the centre.

Additional Information:
- The role requires manual handling, prolonged standing, food handling and cleaning duties.
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check with Children's and Adults' Barred List checks.
