Job Description

Overview

Become a valued member of our Buildings and Places team and contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects. You'll join a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages learning, development, and professional growth while delivering excellence for our clients.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Cost Consultant, you will support the delivery of cost management and commercial services across a range of projects, working closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and project teams. The role provides hands-on exposure to estimating, cost planning, procurement, and post-contract cost management, enabling you to build strong technical and commercial foundations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals at the start of their career who are passionate about developing their expertise and progressing within the cost management profession.

Your role

  • Support the preparation of cost estimates, cost plans, and tender documentation.
  • Undertake measurement, quantification, and benchmarking activities.
  • Assist with procurement, tender analysis, and recommendation reports.
  • Support senior teammates in valuation, change control, and cost reporting activities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and cost databases.
  • Attend site inspections and assist with progress measurement.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly client reports.
  • Ensure tasks are delivered in accordance with internal QA standards.
  • Build knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT).
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and maintain positive client relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
