We're looking for an Assistant Cost Manager to join our team. You'll work alongside experienced cost managers and project leaders, helping to deliver high-quality services to our clients while building your technical and commercial knowledge.
What you'll be doing
As an Assistant Cost Manager, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Support the preparation of cost plans, estimates and reports
- Assist with cost management and financial control throughout the project lifecycle
- Help prepare tender documentation and contract information
- Help project leaders in delivering successful projects
- Attend client, contractor and project meetings
- Assist in the preparation of valuations and cost reporting
- Help monitor project budgets and expenditure
- Assist with procurement and tender evaluation activities
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers
- Learn and apply industry best practice and company procedures
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects across a range of sectors

What we're looking for
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or are working towards completing one
- Some experience in a quantity surveying or cost management role, either through work placements or employment
- An interest in pursuing professional membership with RICS
- Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- A willingness to learn new systems and technologies, including CostX and other cost management software
- Good report writing and organisational skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
