Join Our Team
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Assistant Cost Manager to support the successful financial management of our UK and international projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career in cost management, finance, or project controls within a fast-paced and growing business.
Working closely with our Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers, and wider operational teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring project costs are accurately recorded, monitored, and reported.
This role is a 13-month fixed term contract.
What you'll be doing
As an Assistant Cost Manager, you'll support the day-to-day cost management of multiple projects by:
- Updating invoices and purchase orders within project cost reports in a timely manner
- Allocating costs to the correct cost packages to support effective budget management
- Working collaboratively with teams across the business to ensure accurate cost allocation
- Assisting with project forecasting and highlighting changes in spend as they arise
- Monitoring project expenditure against invoices received
- Providing ad hoc credit control support when required
- Participating in regular meetings with Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Managers
- Producing project cost information for stakeholders, including senior management
- Updating monthly spend reports for Project Managers

What We're Looking For
We're interested in hearing from candidates who are:
- Currently studying towards an AAT qualification, or
- Have previous experience within a finance, accounts, project support, or project administration role
Key Skills
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Full UK driving licence
