Role Description
The Assistant Dealership Accountant will support the dealership’s accounting and finance functions on a day-to-day basis. Responsibilities include:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Reconciling bank accounts and dealer statements
- Posting journals
- Assisting with month-end preparation and reporting
- Maintaining accurate ledgers
- Supporting credit control activities
- Handling petty cash
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations

The individual will collaborate closely with the Dealership Accountant, management, and operational teams to provide timely financial information. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dartford.

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations, and journal posting
- Experience with accounting or dealership management systems and proficiency in common office software (e.g., Excel, Word)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data, invoices, and ledgers
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments
- Prior experience in an accounting support or finance assistant role; experience in automotive or dealership finance is an advantage
- Relevant accounting or finance qualifications (e.g., AAT level or equivalent) are beneficial but not mandatory
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical and regulatory standards
