We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Democratic Services Officer to support our Democratic Services team and help our County Councillors fulfil their responsibilities. You will engage in various tasks, including governance, scrutiny, and education appeals processes. If you are passionate about public service and want to contribute to your community, this opportunity is for you!
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Assisting County Councillors with their duties and responsibilities.
- Supporting the governance and scrutiny processes.
- Supporting education admission appeals and exclusion reviews.
- Building strong relationships with external customers and partner organisations.
- Ensuring high-quality documentation and communication.
- Adapting to changing needs and innovating solutions.

To Succeed In This Role, You Should Have
- Experience in local government and a solid understanding of the Democratic Services function.
- Knowledge of Education Admission Appeals and Exclusion Reviews.
- Proficiency in IT, including MS Word, MS Teams, and Committee Management Systems.
- A good standard of education, ideally to degree level or equivalent experience.
