Position: Assistant Development Manager

Location: Green Park Village, Reading, RG2 6BW

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 0800 – 1600

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract: A permanent position that offers stability and room for growth.

Development Details

Green Park Village is a lakeside residential community in Reading comprising 17 blocks and around 1,300 homes. Developed by St Edward (Berkeley Group), the scheme offers a mix of contemporary apartments and family homes surrounded by landscaped open spaces. Residents benefit from premium on-site amenities including a gym, cinema, and meeting rooms, alongside excellent transport links via Reading Green Park Station, providing easy access to Reading town centre and beyond.

Key Responsibilities And Requirements

As an Assistant Estate Manager at Rendall & Rittner:

  • Support the Development Manager with the day-to-day operational running of the estate, including health and safety compliance, statutory compliance, contractor management, resident engagement, and overseeing on-site staff.
  • Respond to resident queries and complaints promptly, taking ownership and ensuring clear, timely communication throughout.
  • Bring a hands-on approach with demonstrable experience managing demanding schemes, leading resident engagement, and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead on community engagement activities and events – adding value to the resident experience.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits, ensuring H&S regulations are adhered to, and arranging remedial action to maintain high standards of building condition and presentation.
  • Oversee external contractors, coordinating on-site works, raising and monitoring work orders, reviewing RAMS, issuing permits to work, and managing PPMs to ensure all reactive and planned tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Undertake risk assessments, routine safety checks, and testing; ensure all incidents are recorded, investigated, and reported in line with company policy.
  • Support CCTV monitoring and implementation of security measures in accordance with GDPR and Data Protection requirements.
  • Ensure all staff follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and consistently deliver a high-quality, bespoke service to residents, clients, and guests.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, including maintenance logs, contractor performance data, and compliance documentation, and prepare regular reports for the Development Manager.
