ASSISTANT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

DEVELOPMENT DETAILS

Set in the heart of Wapping, this landmark riverside neighbourhood blends calm, landscaped courtyards and water features with the energy of nearby Tower Bridge, the City, and St Katharine Docks. You’ll be part of a vibrant community of residents across 1,800 premium homes, supported by outstanding amenities including private gardens, a spa and gym, screening room, squash court, virtual golf and 24-hour concierge. Your day-to-day will be immersed in a high-spec environment where service standards are exacting, expectations are high, and the setting is truly best-in-class.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

You will be the go-to on-site support for the Development Manager, helping to coordinate daily operations, uphold standards, and keep the estate running smoothly. Most days you’ll liaise with residents, concierge and contractors, oversee H&S routines, and ensure the public realm, amenities and back-of-house areas are safe, clean and presentation-perfect.

  • Residents feel listened to, informed and confident that issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
  • Health and safety compliance is watertight, with accurate records, timely checks and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Contractors are well-briefed, supervised and delivering to scope, quality and timescales.
  • Common areas and amenities consistently meet premium standards of cleanliness, condition and presentation.
  • Communication is clear, timely and courteous across residents, suppliers and internal teams.
  • The Development Manager is supported with reliable reporting, action tracking and follow-through.

  • Carrying out site inspections, H&S checks, risk assessments and keeping compliance records up to date.
  • Supporting front-of-house teams and concierge with resident communications and service delivery.
  • Briefing, escorting and supervising contractors, vetting RAMS and ensuring works are completed safely.
  • Spotting issues early, escalating appropriately and following through until fully closed out.
  • Coordinating and monitoring planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring swift, high-quality resolutions.
  • Managing inboxes, tasks and action logs; preparing updates and reports for the Development Manager.

  • You have residential leasehold experience in a similar role and thrive in a high-end, fast-paced environment.
  • You are people-focused, calm under pressure and committed to delivering an exceptional resident experience.
  • You’re meticulous about standards, safety and presentation, with a proactive eye for detail.
  • You’re organised, responsive and comfortable juggling multiple priorities with clear communication.
  • You take ownership, collaborate well and bring a solutions-first mindset.

Experience That Helps

  • Hands-on experience with H&S routines on residential developments, including inspections and record-keeping.
  • Contractor coordination, reviewing RAMS, and supervising works in occupied environments.
  • Exposure to building plant, amenity operations and front-of-house/concierge collaboration.
  • Using property management systems, CAFM tools and action trackers to keep tasks on course.
  • Supporting resident communications, meetings and service charge or budget administration.
