Job Description
Job Purpose
We are seeking an enthusiastic tax professional to support the Head of Direct Tax and the Direct Tax Manager. The Direct Tax Team not only encompasses tax reporting and compliance but also technical advice on transactions; transfer pricing and business partnering.
You will be responsible for supporting the tax compliance obligations of approximately 40 UK companies, together with the review of overseas corporation tax returns prepared by the outsourced provider. There will also be an opportunity to be involved with advising Radius businesses on direct tax matters, transfer pricing, Pillar 2 implementation, and creating a modern, scalable corporate tax compliance process. This is an ideal role for a newly qualified professional for a first move into industry which will give you exposure to a wide range of tax issues.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Direct Tax Manager, you will be involved with enhancing the corporation tax compliance process for all UK legal entities.
- Take responsibility for the preparation of approximately 40 UK corporation tax returns, assisted by the compliance team. You will take the lead in preparing the computations for the largest companies for review by the Direct Tax Manager
- Key stages in the process include the preparation of a draft computation for inclusion in the statutory accounts, accounting including tax disclosures and deferred tax and production and submission of the final tax computations.
- Be responsible for the first review of all overseas tax returns prepared by the outsourced provider.
- Using profit forecasts, calculate the corporation tax payments required for each UK legal entity.
- Support the corporate interest restriction calculation and determine allowability of interest payments made by the group.
- Submit claims to tax authorities to ensure that where we make payments of interest and dividends, we claim benefits under the appropriate tax treaty to ensure we do not suffer withholding taxes.
- Track payments of corporation tax made by overseas companies, assisted by the compliance team.
- Deal with corporation tax enquiries from tax authorities.
- Assist the Direct Tax Manager in project work as required. Typical projects could involve internal restructures, RDEC claims or capital allowances reviews.
- Transfer pricing documentation – assist the Direct Tax Manager in preparing and updating UK transfer pricing documentation, working collaboratively with the Tax Compliance Manager to drive consistency across all jurisdictions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
