Our core focus is due diligence, evaluating a target company’s finances and business projections, identifying opportunities, risks, sensitivities, and potential mitigations. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, continuously developing your skills across various contexts. There’s likely to be travel—both within the UK and internationally.

You’ll typically lead as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Understanding client needs and business drivers
  • Co-developing strategic approaches, agreeing value measures, and delivering high-quality insights
  • Project managing teams and fostering strong internal collaborations with Financial Diligence and wider EY departments (UK and global)
  • Gathering, verifying, and analysing data to form strategic conclusions
  • Preparing and reviewing deliverables including written reports, presentations, and client discussions
  • Monitoring team progress
  • Sharing technical and operational knowledge
  • Building and expanding internal and external networks
  • Aligning firm capabilities with client needs and identifying upselling opportunities (e.g., key accounts, sales initiatives)
  • Engaging in business planning efforts (client services, recruitment)
  • Serving as a trusted business advisor and key client contact
  • Mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to learning and development frameworks

Requirements

Must-Have

  • Business development experience
  • Holding or commitment towards an ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong commercial experience and/or relevant transactional/iscipline/industry expertise (especially financial due diligence)
  • A razor-sharp focus on delivering exceptional client service

Ideal

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven project management capability
  • Ability to manage deadlines under pressure without losing composure
  • Collaborative team player able to build cross-level relationships
  • Counselling aptitude (non-essential but beneficial)
