This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the University of Brighton’s international partnerships and global mobility activity, building meaningful relationships and creating opportunities that support the University’s ambitions for internationalisation, sustainable growth and global engagement.
As Assistant Director – International Partnerships and Global Mobility, you will provide strategic leadership across the University’s international partnership portfolio and global mobility activity. You will guide the development of partnership and mobility strategies, nurture new opportunities for sustainable growth, and oversee portfolio performance, investment, governance and risk. Working collaboratively with Academic Schools, Professional Services, senior leaders and international partners, you will bring people together to deliver shared strategic, academic and financial outcomes.
A key part of the role will be building and strengthening strategic international partnerships and developing transnational education opportunities. You will work closely with colleagues and partners to shape business and investment cases, guide complex partnership discussions and build lasting relationships with designated strategic partners. You will also lead the University’s Global Mobility Strategy, creating opportunities for more students and staff to participate in international experiences and ensuring that activity is financially sustainable, academically appropriate and effectively governed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
