The Team

At Rosewood London, our Event Sales team brings together engaging service, exceptional cuisine, and beautiful surroundings to create truly memorable events. Reporting to the Director of Event Sales, you will help lead the team responsible for event and group planning while building strong relationships across Event Sales, Group Sales, hotel operations, and key suppliers.

Your Role

As Assistant Director of Event Sales, you will partner with the Director of Event Sales to negotiate, convert, and grow the hotel’s event business. Acting as a brand ambassador, you will help secure reputable and profitable business while ensuring every client and guest receives an exceptional experience.

You will take overall responsibility for event and group planning, support the team in delivering accurate and seamless event handovers, and lead by example through the planning of your own events, weddings, and groups. You will also deputise for the Director of Event Sales when required and help maintain the standards, commercial performance, and reputation of the department.

How You’ll Make the Place

  • Lead event and group planning, ensuring accurate Banquet Event Orders, group resumes, floor plans, and operational handovers.
  • Partner with the Director of Event Sales to improve lead conversion, develop key opportunities, and maximize hotel revenue.
  • Lead planning-related meetings, procedures, and training, including the weekly BEO and Group Resume meetings.
  • Plan your own events, weddings, and group bookings while anticipating client needs and creating memorable experiences.
  • Analyse enquiries and prepare proposals, contracts, and addendums in line with hotel availability, demand, and price integrity.
  • Support accurate booking records, revenue forecasting, deposit collection, and the rebooking of repeat events.
  • Develop the Event Sales team through regular one-to-one meetings, practical guidance, and support during event planning and execution.
  • Build strong relationships with Group Sales, hotel operations, clients, and key suppliers to support smooth delivery and future business.

Could This Be You?

  • You have established experience at a senior event management level within a four-star or five-star hotel environment.
  • You bring experience in selling and planning weddings, social events, and group bookings.
  • You are confident using Microsoft Windows applications and have experience with Delphi and/or Salesforce.
  • You communicate clearly in written and spoken English and build positive working relationships at every level.
  • You are organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities using a systematic approach.
  • You combine strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and remain calm and courteous.
  • You can motivate and inspire others and bring determination to achieving team and commercial goals.
  • You are flexible and able to work outside regular office hours and at weekends when the role requires it. Knowledge of Opera PMS would be desirable.
