Company Description

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Director of Finance to join the pre-opening team of Delano London. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

This role plays a key part in establishing efficient financial processes, supporting operational performance, and developing a high-performing finance team during the hotel's pre-opening phase and beyond.

Set to open its doors in 2026, Delano London will fuse historic charm with contemporary luxury, reflecting a reimagined experience that pays homage to the original visionary concept. The 67-key luxury retreat will blend soft minimalist design, generous living spaces, and park views creating a distinctive lifestyle destination where design, dining, nightlife, and wellbeing seamlessly converge.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Support the Director of Finance in managing all accounting and finance operations across the hotel, including on-site Food & Beverage activities.
  • Oversee the full month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reports.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis to support informed business decisions.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data by implementing effective internal controls, standard operating procedures, and continuous process improvements.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the accounting team through training, mentoring, cross-training, and performance management.
  • Manage payroll accounting entries and work closely with Human Resources and external payroll providers to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit queries.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide financial guidance to operational leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, treasury, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting timely submissions.
  • Prepare and support tax filings and payments, including VAT returns, PAYE, P11D reporting, and other relevant government obligations.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Assist with the implementation of financial systems and controls during the hotel's pre-opening phase.
  • Build strong relationships across departments to support operational efficiency and commercial performance.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance or senior leadership team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
