Assistant Director of Food & Beverage
The Assistant Director of F&B is responsible for the assistance of the overall administration and operation of the Food & Beverage division, to maximise profits, enforce quality standards focusing on Shangri-La experiences, maintenance of high colleague performance and ensures guest and colleague satisfaction.
The Assistant F&B Director will also assist the Operations Director to implement and maintain a service and leadership philosophy which serves as a guide to all staff members. Delegation of duties and responsibilities to Heads of Department is necessary in order to ensure that all phases of F&B service in areas under manager’s control are functioning.
The Assistant F&B Director is accountable in the delivery of the Shangri-La experience, behaviours across the respective department, and hotel, and to ensure that the behaviours are followed through by our colleagues.
Competency
- Ability to assist the Operations Director in implementing F&B marketing strategies
- Ability to enforce actions to improve Staff Opinion
- Business skills in Food and Beverage to drive for covers, revenue and profit
- Able to understand and integrate in local culture & environment
- Clear positioning of all the restaurants and banquet operation
- Communications and working/business relationships (Internal with colleagues and external with customers and suppliers/vendors)
- Deliver high quality service and product at all times to delight our customers
- Demonstrate passion, commitment, ownership (drive and determination) in the position and loyalty to the company
- Expense control and OE breakage and inventories
- Knowledge of POS system and data management
- Ownership (Drive and Determination)
- Technical skills in Food and Beverage
- Training - ability to train, coach and cascade skills to the rest of F&B Division

What we are looking for?
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the same or similar role
- Expertise in quality standards of service and in F&B
- Excellent reports & exposure in Hygiene & sanitation
- Experience in a luxury 5* hotel and luxury restaurant / bar outlets
- Flexible & adaptable to different working conditions
- Passionate about F&B with excellent product knowledge
- Excellent financial acumen
- Ability to demonstrate meetings, planning & marketing strategies, future proof planning
- Excellent leadership & communications both up and down the management tier
