Assistant HR Director – Luxury 5* Hotel in London

Location: London
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + benefits

We are delighted to be working with an exceptional luxury 5-star hotel in London to recruit an Assistant HR Director to join its senior People & Culture team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality HR professional to play a key role in shaping the employee experience within a prestigious, high-profile hotel environment.

Reporting into the HR Director, you will be a key member of the hotel's People & Culture leadership team, supporting the delivery of the hotel's people strategy while partnering closely with senior leaders and Heads of Department across the operation.

You will balance strategic HR leadership with a strong operational presence, ensuring the hotel attracts, develops and retains exceptional talent while maintaining the highest standards of employee engagement and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders and HODs to deliver the hotel's people strategy and business objectives.
  • Act as a trusted HR advisor, providing coaching and guidance on complex people matters.
  • Lead and support employee engagement, talent development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Drive learning and development, leadership development and performance management across the hotel.
  • Oversee and continuously improve HR policies, processes and employee lifecycle practices.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment and retention strategies in a highly competitive luxury hospitality market.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and company policies.
  • Champion employee wellbeing, inclusion and an exceptional colleague experience.
  • Support organisational change and key people projects as required.
  • Lead, develop and mentor members of the HR team.

Requirements

  • Previous HR leadership experience within a luxury 5-star hotel or comparable hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and employee relations.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and coaching Heads of Department.
  • A strong track record in talent, leadership development and employee engagement.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • A commercially minded and hands-on approach to HR.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
  • A genuine passion for luxury hospitality and creating an exceptional colleague experience.
