This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

Role Description

The Assistant Director for Separate Managed Accounts (SMA) works on the Sales Enablement Presentations team in HarbourVest’s Marketing division. They create custom presentations, focusing on SMA materials. This person partners with Marketing's leadership on important projects to improve team efficiency. They also develop scalable presentation processes and ensure custom materials are consistent and high quality.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • A marketing professional who can independently build sophisticated, investor presentations from intake through final draft.
  • Experienced in generating sales collateral for complex investment concepts into engaging content.
  • Proficient in leading and guiding discussions with collaborators around messaging, marketing collateral, and investment themes.
  • An effective cross-functional partner who can influence senior team members, drive timely inputs, and resolve content gaps with minimal blocking issues.
  • Methodical, capable of refining presentation workflows and preserving a high-quality slide library.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic setting, leading intricate tasks while preserving excellent attention to detail.
  • Experienced using Seismic to streamline access to approved materials, and support consistent execution across teams.
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing automation initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve workflow efficiency, and strengthen quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate investor presentations that clearly communicate investment strategies, portfolio themes, performance drivers, and client-specific considerations.
  • Customize presentation content and messaging for the appropriate audience, ensuring materials are tailored to client objectives, knowledge level, and engagement context.
  • Work closely with internal collaborators to understand client needs, identify content gaps, and recommend relevant materials or messaging approaches.
  • Operate proactively by anticipating presentation needs, driving next steps, and surfacing recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, and client impact.
  • Act as a contributor and subject-matter resource, providing peer review, informal mentoring, and best-practice guidance to junior team members.
  • Partner with team leadership on Seismic library management and automation initiatives.
  • Support management on critical initiatives to expand the team’s operating model and improve management of custom materials.

Requirements

  • Proven track record to lead multiple concurrent projects and handle sophisticated team member groups with minimal oversight.
  • Outstanding PowerPoint content creation and quality-control skills, including comfort with numerical/financial data and consistency checks across sources.
  • Strong focus on detail, good judgement, and the ability to protect confidential information.
  • Clear, professional communicator capable of engaging credibly with investment teams and senior partners.
  • Comfort with crafting and maintaining process documentation, templates, and standard operating procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets, specifically private equity, private wealth, private debt, and real assets/infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with investment concepts and a high level of comfort with numbers and analysis.
  • Proven business writing ability with excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to independently analyse information and solve problems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; experience with Seismic software, including back-end content management.

Education

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree or comparable experience
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) credential or equivalent experience

Experience

8-10 years proven experience in financial services marketing required.
