We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and forward-thinking individual to join our operational management team within the Directorate of Medicine as an Assistant Directorate Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your operational management career within a large and diverse clinical directorate, supporting a range of inpatient and outpatient services that make a real difference to the people of Tameside and Glossop.
Working closely with clinical, nursing, and corporate colleagues, you will support the delivery of high-quality services through operational management, performance improvement, workforce coordination, governance, and service transformation. This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for someone with experience of NHS operational management, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to analyze complex information and manage competing priorities. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, are essential.

Role Description
The Assistant Directorate Manager (ADM) provides operational and project management support across the Medicine Directorate, working closely with the Directorate Manager and Deputy Directorate Managers to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality services.
The post holder will play a key role in supporting the operational management of inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring delivery of national and local performance standards, service improvement programs, workforce management, and governance processes.
The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical, nursing, and corporate colleagues to support service transformation, optimize patient pathways, improve operational performance, and contribute to the achievement of the Directorate's strategic objectives.
The Assistant Directorate Manager will have responsibility for managing defined workstreams and projects, providing operational leadership where appropriate, and deputizing for senior managers when required.
