ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an organised, proactive, and solutions-focused Assistant Distribution Manager to join our Supply Chain team.
Supporting the movement of products across the Bamford Collection, you will play a key role in ensuring stock is delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong logistics experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on building effective relationships across multiple teams.
Working closely with the Logistics Manager, you will help lead and develop a team of Logistics Coordinators, supporting day-to-day operations while driving service excellence, process improvements, and operational efficiencies. You will act as a key point of contact for distribution-related activities, ensuring a seamless experience for both internal stakeholders and external partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach, and support the Logistics Coordinators, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Assist in delivering logistics projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service levels, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work cross-functionally with internal departments to improve processes and strengthen operational performance.
- Support stores and customers with order status updates, transport enquiries, product information, and issue resolution.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, responding promptly and professionally to all enquiries.
- Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on transportation, inventory management, and order fulfilment activities.
- Support escalation processes relating to supply and distribution challenges, ensuring timely resolution.
- Oversee distribution activities, including order processing, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
- Monitor shipments throughout transit, proactively communicating updates and managing any delivery exceptions.
- Ensure all shipping documentation and records are accurate, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve overall logistics performance.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team within a logistics, distribution, supply chain, or operational environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- Experience working within a KPI-driven environment, with a focus on performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence analysing data to support decision-making.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and strong problem-solving capability.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to influence and work cross-functionally.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, organised working style.
- Proven experience delivering excellent customer service and stakeholder support.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines.
