The Vacancy
Structural Soils, part of the RSK Group, have an exciting new opportunity! Due to the continued growth of our team, we have a vacancy for an Assistant Driller to join our team based in Castleford, UK.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a supportive and experienced team that focuses on quality and H&S. We work all over the UK ranging from inner-city to countryside locations.
Responsibilities
- Working outside throughout the year in varying locations around the UK (staying away is often required; all expenses paid)
- Assisting Lead Drillers in our Drilling Department on sites all over the UK ranging from inner-city to countryside locations
- Undertaking general labouring duties e.g., erecting fences, general reinstatement, delivery of consumables, hand dug inspection pits and collection of samples
- Manual handling and moving heavy items, plus training in the use of some site equipment and plant
- Assisting with tasks in the Warehouse
- Opportunities to work on all of our rig types
About You
- Must have a full UK driving licence.
- Have a flexible approach to working with a focus of delivering results.
- Be reliable and have good time-keeping skills.
- Enjoy working as a team and have the ability to work individually on tasks.
- Be able to carry out physically challenging tasks.
- Be able to follow strict industry health and safety and environmental standards.
- A CSCS Card is desirable but not essential.

A client may seek advice on house subsidence, or a multinational energy company may require our help in constructing power stations. Our industry-renowned expert staff offer technical, logistical and contractual advice on all aspects of ground investigations. Our technical staff include civil engineers, geologists, engineering geologists, chemists and environmental scientists.
