Vacancy Description

An opportunity to join The Workhouse Picture Co as an Assistant Editor working closely with the Post supervisor, other members of the editorial & production team to help maintain the smooth management of post-production workflows and delivery of creative content.

We are looking for an experienced edit assistant with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for creative offline editorial work. In addition to technical proficiency, the ideal candidate will have a good eye for selecting the best material from a wide range of footage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Media ingest, Data management, creating back-ups of all media.
  • Manage data storage requirements editorial staff tech lead to ensure no disruptions.
  • Transcoding / proxy creation, sequence prepping, rendering, exports for transcription.
  • Assist to ensure all freelancers, new starters and current editorial staff work according to agreed technical setup for projects and proactively address if not.
  • Prepping exports. Creating deliverables for Grade and Online (EDL, AAF, REF, XML, OMF, WAVS).
  • Apply edit changes / amendments / edit cutdowns / versioning to social formats 9x16 / 4x5 / 1x1.
  • Ensure output is technically correct, being confident in using key equipment & software to assist the online process.
  • Create select sequences from various forms of content (Broll and interview material) for editorial.
  • Collaborate with the Production team and Editors at the beginning and throughout all jobs to ensure a smooth workflow, and production of required material, making sure this meets the required technical standards within the agreed time constraints.
  • Maintain a high level of communication between the editorial team, Production and other internal teams.
  • Maintain and improve current knowledge of relevant technology and practices to provide support to the wider business.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere and a familiarity with NLEs generally.
  • Working knowledge of Da Vinci Resolve desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Mac OSX operating system.
  • Experience working with and managing, networked Nas shared storage.
  • Strong working knowledge of frame rates, time-code, aspect ratios, digital video codecs, bit rates, conversion tools, resolutions, colour spaces, delivery formats.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and create strong working relationships.
  • Strong organization skills along with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously and keep a level head under pressure.
