At Barnsley Educational, Child and Community Psychology Service (BECCPS), you'll join a dynamic and ambitious team committed to creating positive change across our communities. As a high-profile, non-traded local authority service, we play a key role in shaping strategic SEND priorities while delivering impactful support that improves outcomes for children and young people.
Our Educational Psychologists (EPs) work within a service that operates across all levels of the system. From direct work with children, young people and families, to influencing whole-school practice and local authority strategy, our Educational Psychologists make a meaningful difference every day.
Our Assistant Educational Psychologists will have an important role in supporting our qualified Educational Psychologists in applying and delivering psychology to our partners, schools and settings in their work to promote the best possible learning and life outcomes for children and young people in the Borough.

Essential Requirements
Assistant Educational Psychologist
- An honours degree in Psychology confirming Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society
- Experience of working with children who have special educational needs
- Experience of reducing barriers to learning and promoting inclusion
- Ability to travel to schools and community settings across the borough
