A leading Facilities Management provider is seeking an Assistant Electrical Technical Manager in Portsmouth

This is an excellent step-up opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who wants to move beyond a traditional hands-on role and develop within a complex, critical environment.

The Role

As the Assistant Electrical Technical Manager, you’ll:

  • Plan and undertake LV electrical inspection and testing.
  • Complete EICRs, Minor Works Certificates and Electrical Installation Certificates.
  • Maintain compliance and certification records through CAFM systems.
  • Support the management of LV and HV electrical distribution systems.
  • Diagnose complex electrical faults and provide technical support.
  • Manage specialist contractors, including reviewing RAMS and issuing permits to work.
  • Assist with electrical compliance, lifecycle plans and technical projects.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, currently 1 week in 4.

You

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Strong electrical installation, inspection and testing experience.
  • Experience completing EICRs and electrical certification.
  • Good knowledge of LV electrical distribution and switchgear.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • A good understanding of electrical compliance and Health & Safety.

AM2, previous HV exposure or experience within healthcare, commercial, industrial or other critical environments would be advantageous.

You'll also receive:

  • £40,000–£42,000 salary.
  • Additional on-call payment of approximately £270 per month.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Permanent, full-time position – 37.5 hours per week.

A Standard DBS check is required for this position.
