Description

Join Our Team as an Assistant Estimator!

Are you a motivated individual with a degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying, or construction management looking to grow your career in Estimating? If you have 5+ years of industry experience and exposure to RC Frame or civil works, we would love to hear from you.

Role Purpose

As an Assistant Estimator, you'll play a crucial role in our estimating team, reporting to the Managing Estimator. Your main responsibilities will include undertaking measurements from tender drawings, preparing bills of quantities, and assisting estimators in compiling estimates and rate bills of quantities.

  • Review and understand the scope of works, drawings, and specifications.
  • Utilise tools such as Bluebeam or CADmeasure to measure and take off quantities from drawings.
  • Produce bills of quantities following applicable methods of measurement.
  • Compile supplier/sub-contractor enquiries for tender buying.
  • Work from first principles to rate items within bills of quantities.
  • Participate in mid-bid, tender review, and adjudication/settlement meetings.
  • Attend client meetings, including pre/post contract interviews.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and upskilling across the team.

About You:

Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in civil engineering or construction management, with exposure to project types such as bulk earthworks, groundworks, roadworks, and RC frames.
  • Familiarity with methods of measurement, particularly SMM7.
  • Proficiency in electronic measuring tools such as Bluebeam or CADmeasure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
  • Experience using estimating software such as Causeway or similar.
