Build Your Career in Infrastructure Cost Engineering. Are you an Assistant Estimator, Graduate Estimator, Assistant QS or Civil Engineering graduate looking to build a career in estimating and cost engineering? Or perhaps you're working in civil engineering or infrastructure design and are ready to take your career in a more commercial direction? We're working with an established and growing specialist consultancy that delivers cost engineering and estimating services across some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. With continued growth in their Glasgow team, they're looking for an ambitious Assistant Estimator who wants to develop their technical and commercial skills and build a long-term career in Cost Engineering.
The Opportunity
You'll work alongside experienced Cost Engineers, supporting the preparation of estimates and commercial analysis across a range of major infrastructure projects. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to gain exposure to the full estimating process, while developing a strong understanding of civil engineering construction, project costs and commercial decision-making. The business is particularly open to candidates who may be coming from a design or engineering background and are looking to move into estimating.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
