DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Watford in where we are responsible for bringing design build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

We are looking for an Assistant Estimator to join our Tender Team, where you will play a key role in transforming tender information into competitive and commercially viable cost estimates.

As the Assistant Estimator, you will:

  • Assist with the pricing including developing the prelims book, updating the carbon footprint and entering subcontractors into Candy including comparisons and assessments for opportunities and value engineering
  • Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
  • Work with a Senior Estimator to prepare the financial elements of the tender.
  • Assist with the preparation of BOQs in the estimating package and bid team in any post tender negotiations.
  • Assist with the Pricing of preliminaries and reconcile pricing with planning team

  • Estimating Department Experience
  • Develop knowledge of commercial conditions (including NEC) and design process
  • Experience of working in an estimating environment.
  • Computerised estimating systems and IT skills as appropriate
