We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Facilities Manager – Campus Support and Safety (Security) to join our Estates and Facilities team.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager – Campus Support and Safety, you will help coordinate and manage facilities staff to ensure the delivery of responsive, professional and efficient facilities services across University sites and properties.

As part of this operational role, you will be required to participate in the Facilities Services on-call rota, for which an additional payment will be made.

You will take day-to-day responsibility for the management and performance of facilities staff within your remit, while helping to develop a customer-focused culture and promote a professional image of the service.

This is a varied operational role combining campus safety, security coordination, facilities support, and staff supervision. You will play an important part in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented campus environment for students, staff, visitors, and contractors.

You will have a security management qualification, or have equivalent relevant experience, together with a full and valid UK driving licence. You will bring experience of supervising or line managing staff, as well as incident, contractor, and rota management. With knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and GDPR, you will be a resilient and customer-focused professional who can manage challenging situations effectively. Experience of using security-related IT systems and developing and implementing standard operational procedures is also essential.
