Assistant Farm Manager – Poultry
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire (Outskirts)
Salary: Circa £38,000
Hours: 7:00am–3:30pm, 6 days on / 2 days off
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Accommodation: Not provided

ISQ Recruitment are supporting an established poultry breeding business with the recruitment of an Assistant Farm Manager for one of its rearing farms on the outskirts of Lincoln.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Poultry Team Leader, Farm Supervisor or Assistant Farm Manager looking to develop towards full farm management. Applications are also welcomed from candidates with wider livestock or farming experience who have proven people-management skills and are keen to develop within the poultry sector.
The Role
Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of the farm, combining hands-on flock management with team supervision and operational responsibility.
You will support the Farm Manager in maintaining high standards across bird welfare, biosecurity, health and safety and farm performance, while stepping up to provide management cover when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Farm Manager with the day-to-day operation of the farm and provide cover during periods of absence.
- Supervise the farm team, allocate daily workloads and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
- Take an active, hands-on role in flock management and general farm duties.
- Maintain high standards of animal welfare, husbandry and biosecurity.
- Monitor farm performance, equipment, health and safety and working practices.
- Support bird intakes, depletions and specialist flock testing, with training provided where required.
- Respond to farm alarms and assist with out-of-hours chick checks when necessary.
- Help maintain accurate farm records and ensure procedures are followed consistently.
About You
We are looking for someone who can combine practical farming experience with the confidence to lead and support a team.
You Will Ideally Have
- Previous experience within farming, livestock or agriculture; poultry experience would be advantageous.
- Experience supervising, leading or managing people.
- A good understanding of animal husbandry, welfare and biosecurity.
- A practical, organised and hands-on approach.
- Confidence taking responsibility and making day-to-day operational decisions.
- Flexibility to meet the operational requirements of a working poultry farm.
- Basic IT skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
