Department: Finance
Reporting To: Dina Patel
Location: London, UK
Hybrid Working: Minimum of 3 days in the office

The Role
We're looking for two Finance Assistants to join our Global Finance team in London. You'll support the day-to-day Accounts Payable and Finance operations across our UK and US businesses, helping to ensure invoices, payments, expenses and reconciliations are processed accurately and on time.
Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, you'll gain hands-on experience across purchase ledger, payment processing, client payments and reconciliations while developing a strong understanding of Kobalt's global Finance operations.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their Finance career who wants to build their technical accounting experience within a fast-paced, global music and technology company.
What You'll Do
- Process UK and US invoices accurately and on time using NetSuite.
- Match invoices against purchase orders and ensure appropriate supporting information and approvals are in place.
- Support the preparation and execution of supplier payment runs, currently completed twice a week.
- Process payments using Kyriba, our Treasury management system.
- Prepare and manage payments to Kobalt clients.
- Complete supplier statement reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support bank and account reconciliations.
- Process employee expenses accurately and promptly.
- Produce timely purchase ledger reports and maintain accurate financial records.
- Input relevant financial information into Kobalt's internal systems, including our royalties database.
- Respond to internal and external queries relating to invoices, suppliers and payments, taking ownership of issues through to resolution where appropriate.
- Ensure activity is completed in line with Kobalt's Finance processes, procedures and controls.
- Support colleagues across the broader Finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
- Identify opportunities to make Finance processes simpler, more accurate and more efficient.
What You'll Bring
Preferred:
- Experience working within a Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or similar environment.
- An understanding of purchase ledger or transactional Finance processes.
- Confidence working with numerical and financial data with strong attention to detail.
- Good Excel skills and confidence learning new financial systems.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to resolving queries and discrepancies.
- The ability to adapt and work effectively within a fast-paced Finance environment.
- An interest in developing a career within Finance and Accounting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
