We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and professional person to join our Finance Team as an Assistant Finance Business Partner (Capital) supporting the delivery of the Trust’s capital programme.

In order to continue and improve our provision of high quality services across Trust, we are making significant amounts of capital investment in our hospitals over the coming years including site infrastructure, the creation of 7 new theatres at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and the upgrading of our digital network and clinical systems.

You will take a role in supporting the planning and delivery of a range of capital developments across the Trust including the RAAC panel project at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

  • Support the Deputy Chief Finance Officer and Finance Business Partner with developing and maintaining procedures to ensure efficient financial control and monitoring of capital programmes.
  • To assist in the preparation of the month end finance analysis and reporting liaising with scheme project managers and preparing reports, undertaking tasks as required by the Finance Business Partner to facilitate effective discussion and decision making.
  • Prepare robust forecasts on a regular basis, working closely with project managers to promote effective early warning of potential future problems and enable financial risk to be effectively managed.
  • Assist in the preparation, formulation and evaluation of business cases (investment appraisals). Ensuring they meet both the trusts’ strategic aims and the annual capital plan taking into account the impact over short and longer term. Analysing any potential risks and variations to plan.
  • Support a number of major programmes working directly as part of the project teams to maintaining high quality financial information.
  • Present highly complex and sometimes contentious information in a way that can be understood by a range of stakeholders. Inspiring confidence in the data presented, explaining the key messages persuasively in a way that resonates with operational and clinical colleagues in the context of a busy Trust.
