Job Title: Assistant Finance Business Partner

Location: Office based in Ringwood, Hampshire

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Churchill Living Finance team in a varied support role, working closely with Finance Business Partners, divisional teams and colleagues across the wider finance function. You will help ensure accurate, timely and relevant financial information is available to support decision-making, maintain financial discipline and contribute to the smooth delivery of monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audit activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts, including supporting schedules, P&L reporting and variance analysis.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of financial appraisals, using historical information, divisional forecasts and updated cost and income data.
  • Investigate costs, coding, VAT treatment and movements in financial information, raising queries and challenging where appropriate.
  • Contribute to monthly management reporting packs, divisional board reports, activity reporting and sales reporting.
  • Assist with the annual budget process, including divisional budgets, model site cost research and budget uploads into COINS.
  • Support the annual audit process by helping to prepare audit files and respond to auditor queries or information requests.
  • Provide ad hoc finance support to the Finance team and divisional teams, including transaction processing, financial reporting and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be:

  • Organised, accurate and comfortable working with financial information, reports and deadlines.
  • Have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing reliable, well-presented information.
  • Confident communicating with colleagues at different levels and able to build effective working relationships across finance and divisional teams.
  • Proactive and curious, with the confidence to ask questions, investigate discrepancies and challenge information appropriately.
  • Able to manage a varied workload, respond flexibly to ad hoc requests and work collaboratively as part of a busy finance team.
  • Someone with experience supporting management accounts, budgets, financial reporting, audit activity or transaction processing.
  • Someone with knowledge of COINS or similar finance system, although a willingness to learn is equally important.
