An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join a Planning and Business Partnering team. The role will support financial performance, stakeholder engagement and the delivery of financial services across the organisation.
Your new role
As an Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will support the Planning and Business Partnering team with a range of financial activities, including:
- Supporting project management activities.
- Assisting with the creation, review and management of budgets and associated variance analysis.
- Reviewing and managing staffing reports.
- Monitoring income from all sources.
- Preparing accruals, prepayments and recurring journals.
- Preparing project reports, dashboards and department-specific reporting.
- Ensuring the correct treatment of income and taxation for foreign currency transactions.
- Preparing balance account statements and resolving queries from account holders.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting rounds.
- Producing financial reports and management accounts and assisting with year-end financial processes.
- Monitoring and managing budgets and financial processes, ensuring accuracy, value for money and compliance with financial regulations.
- Supporting decision-making through financial information and operational knowledge.
- Undertaking year-end and audit activities as required.
- Contributing to and maintaining process support documents.
- Assisting and deputising for the Management Accountant as required.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent workplace experience.
- Part Qualified accountant committed to qualifying with a professional body.
- Experience of managing budgets and financial processes, understanding financial regulations and value for money principles.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with ability to build effective relationships.
- Experience of managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrates commitment to delivering excellent customer service, with experience of designing and improving customer facing services.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and with others.
- An enthusiastic team player with ability to meet stringent deadlines and work independently and unsupervised with initiative and judgement to resolve many problems independently.
- Understanding of data protection, compliance, and governance frameworks
