  • D Grade £37,190 + £6,920 London Weighting Allowance

Hybrid working

This Police Staff role adheres to Corporation of London’s hybrid working policy, which requires a 60% office attendance rate. The specifics of this will be discussed locally with your hiring manager if you’re successful for the role.

About The Team

It is an exciting time to join the Finance team. The team is being developed to provide an exceptional Finance service supporting and enabling front line policing. This includes supporting transformational change, driving commercial opportunities and building strong relationships across the Force and with our partners.


About The Role

The successful candidate will support the finance business partnering team in the provision of excellent financial advice and support to the Force. This includes assisting Directorates in all areas such as budgeting, financial control, closing of accounts, maintenance of accounting systems, cash handling, the administration of third-party funds, and financial advice to services.

You will play an essential role in strengthening the quality and flow of information between the Finance team and service area and provides a great opportunity for development within finance business partnering.

As well as a strong grounding in financial services, candidates will have an ethos of continuous improvement to support ongoing development of the service, the team and the Force. A background in public sector finance would be an advantage. This is a real opportunity to guide future direction and make a real difference.


Responsibilities

In this role, you will be required:

  • To liaise with budget managers and officers to provide accurate monthly revenue / capital budgetary control reports and to assist in the development and enhancement of this information
  • To ensure summary revenue and capital monitoring reports are completed for review by the Finance Business Partner
  • Work with budget managers to ensure general ledger forecasting/profiling of budgets on the financial system is completed to improve accuracy of year end forecasts
  • To assist in the preparation and monitoring of salary budgets
  • To monitor and reconcile income streams from grant and other funded agreements as directed

Selection Process

As part of the initial application process, you will be asked to evidence how your experience, skills, and knowledge align with the selection criteria in the Job Description

The application and interview will be tested under Level 1 (C Grade) and under level 2 (D Grade) of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
