The Assistant Finance Manager is a hybrid role based in the NEC in Birmingham. This position supports the Finance Manager in overseeing venue financial operations, including preparing management accounts, tracking revenue and costs, and ensuring accurate month-end reporting. The role involves monitoring budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial performance, and providing actionable insights to operational and commercial teams. The Assistant Finance Manager will help maintain robust financial controls, assist with audits and compliance requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and systems. Collaboration with venue leadership, catering operations, and central finance is key to supporting Levy’s strategic and commercial objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong financial accounting and management reporting skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency with financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP/accounting software, Excel), and the ability to work with data to produce clear reports and insights.
- Understanding of cost control, margin analysis, and commercial finance within hospitality, catering, or similar service-focused sectors.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in all financial work.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and support non-finance colleagues.
- Relevant part qualified professional qualification or progression (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) compulsory.
- Ability to work on-site in Birmingham and adapt to a fast-paced venue environment.
- Commitment to ethical practices, inclusivity, and continuous learning, with an interest in the sports, entertainment, or hospitality industry.
