Assistant Finance Manager – Corporate Services

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time 35 Hours per week

Salary: Starting from £65,913 per annum (London weighted salary) or £57,900 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience

Grade: 11

Reporting Office: London, Stratford or Manchester

Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

Closing Date: 23rd September

We are seeking commercially astute, technically skilled and highly motivated individuals to take on the role of Assistant Finance Manager. This is a pivotal role within the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance for Corporate Services.

You will be responsible for supporting them in ensuring the team provides a comprehensive range of financial services and provides strategic financial oversight in the relevant area of the Financial Strategy, Planning and Performance team.

Your impact in the role:

  • Support management in the supervision and mentorship of finance team members to ensure high quality outputs of the team.
  • Deputising for the Head of Finance and Finance Manager in their areas of responsibility as and when required.
  • Provide strategic financial support and partner with budget holders across the business, to deliver insightful management information, strengthen relationships between finance and operational teams, and enable informed decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of management and statutory accounts, monitoring KPIs, and advising on business performance. Contribute to the review and improvement of finance processes and compliance with financial regulations.

What you'll bring:

  • CCAB Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or CFA with evidence of demonstrable relevant post qualified experience (essential)
  • Experience working in Finance in Housing/Property/Construction and/or a large complex organisation.
  • Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with proven business partnering experience. Support and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Strong time management, organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel and IT literacy in MS Office for reporting, modelling, and process automation and proficient in business intelligence software.
