Role Description
The Assistant Manager Finance role at MGM Muthu Hotels is a full-time, on-site position based in Glasgow, supporting the hotel’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Budgeting & Cost Control
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, payroll costs, and departmental budgets to ensure effective cost management.

Accounts & Cash Flow Management
- Assist in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and working capital requirements.
- Review bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.

Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required financial documentation.

Financial Controls & Business Support
- Monitor financial controls and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with operational departments to improve financial awareness, inventory control, procurement oversight, and asset management.

Key Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial reporting roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control.
- Experience in preparing management accounts and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- Part-qualified or qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Previous experience within the hospitality, hotel, leisure, or service industry is preferred.
- Experience working with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and hospitality finance software.
- Knowledge of UK accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
