Job title: Assistant Financial Accountant

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 (Depending on Experience) + KPIs

Location: Herne Hill, London

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 5:30pm (1-hour lunch break)

The Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is part-qualified (or working towards a professional accounting qualification) and looking to develop their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Day-to-day accounts payable and receivables duties for the group.
  • Accurately process financial information within month end deadlines.
  • Obtain approvals of invoices from all departments.
  • Support audit preparation.
  • Assist in preparation of management accounts.
  • Assist in accruals and prepayments processing.
  • Assist in budgets; forecast preparation across the group.
  • General accounts queries - investigating and liaising with other departments.
  • Cover for others of the finance team during period of absence and annual leave.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the finance team.

What you'll need:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Currently studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
