Role Description
The Assistant Financial Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in London. This role supports the finance team in day-to-day accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, and helping maintain accurate ledgers. The Assistant Financial Accountant will reconcile bank accounts, support accounts payable and receivable processes, and assist in preparing financial reports and analyses for internal stakeholders. The role also involves maintaining financial documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide timely financial information.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in financial accounting principles, including experience with general ledger management, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including use of spreadsheets for reporting, analysis, and data validation. Previous experience in Microsoft Business Central is a plus.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling numerical data, documentation, and financial records.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, demonstrate integrity, and handle confidential information responsibly.
- Relevant education such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications in progress (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an accounting or finance support role, ideally within FMCG, beauty, or a similar industry, is beneficial but not a must.
